Funding

The Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board’s
$15 million 2007 operating budget comes from several sources:

  • Fees represent 65.8% of our operating budget. We base costs for individuals on income and family size and use insurance coverage when available.

  • The state provides 20.8% of our budget. These dollars must be tied to specific service populations, for example, the Emergency Services Program.

  • The federal government provides 8.4% of our budget. These funds often result from applications or grants awarded to the CSB and also are tied to specific service populations, for example, jail-based programs.

  • Local government provides 2.6% of our budget. These dollars help cover expenses for services provided to individuals with limited or no health insurance coverage.

  • Other sources provide 2.4% of our budget. These sources include community organizations and foundations.

No one is denied services because of an inability to pay. We make every effort to help an individual apply for or receive benefits for which he or she may be eligible.
